A good day – brunch @ Fundamental and a visit to Adriano Zumbo patisserie
Well it’s been a good eating day today for Mr L and me. It started with brunch @ Fundamental in Balmain with PC and Tines. An after brunch stroll to Adriano Zumbo’s patisserie uncovered further spoils that kept us going through the day. Dog spotting, bird watching and lots of giggling occurred before we headed home to retire to the couch for a relaxing finish. Now with Masterchef on the tv, all in all it’s been a fundamentally good day!
Sunday sunrise @ Freshie and a trip to The Little Hand Stirred Jam shop, Berrima
The alarm went off at 5:39 this morning – between then and now, we’ve been back over to Freshie for a beautiful sunrise and photography mission, before heading down to stock up on chutney, jam, honey, mustards, and more at The Little Hand Stirred Jam Shop in Berrima. We’re exhausted, but excited – Mr L is excited because he’s got some fresh photos to review, and I’m excited because I finally made it to The Little Hand Stirred Jam Shop – after all these years of their products coming to me!
No cook chocolate-orange tart – Mother’s Day special
It’s been a busy weekend, filled with celebrations – a few for Mother’s Day and a big one for our best mate Commando, who had a great birthday yesterday. We’ve just got home and there’s been no time to blog in the mean time, but hopefully the wait was worth it, for tonight’s post is a creamy, fudgey, decadent, no cook chocolate-orange tart. The filling in this tart is so gooey and rich, you could consider making the filling, chilling it and serving it as a chocolate jaffa mousse. Sound good? Check the pictures!
Cacao fantasy – ooh yeah!
So I admit it. I pinch things from hotels. Well – I mean, they’re all things intended for my use, but I choose not to use them during my stay and instead take them with me. L’Occitane toiletries, exotic tea bags, the occassional double pack of scotch finger biscuits, shower caps and shoe shiners – they’ve all featured in my checkout cargo. After all – who knows when I’ll need them? I travel a lot – I don’t want to be caught out with dull shoes! Tonight’s post is about a stolen item – Douwe Egberts’ Cacao fantasy – fine drinking chocolate.
29 degrees in Sydney, the Bay Walk past sparking waters and honourable mentions to three establishments!
It’s a short, and mostly pictorial post tonight and again, it hasn’t got much to do with food, save for a few honorary mentions to wrap up the weekend… First though, I wanted to tell you about the beauty that was today in Sydney.
The best chocolate praline tart
Ever met a tart you didn’t like?
No?
Well, dear reader, do proceed without fear or trepidation, for I don’t expect you’ll find any emotion less than looooove for this delicious, smooth, velvety, very adult, and darkly decadent triple chocolate, praline tart.
