Shiny disco balls (and request for an extension)

Well it’s been a trying 36 hours.  I’ve travelled from Sydney to Adelaide and now to Brisbane and have just got in tonight.  Each hotel I’ve been to and left has been shrouded in darkness.  I’ve been arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning.  My computer died, my mobile died and I couldn’t find a charger at the last airport.  I’d promised to write the bumper review of PC’s Saturday night birthday dinner, but I’ve been out of computer juice, and now have run out of fruit loop juice, so am sheepishly requesting an extension.  I promise to write the review tomorrow – have cancelled plans and will write, then snooze for I am tired!  In the mean time….

A big, fat, disco ball to keep you going

Below is a sneak peek – the big, fat disco ball that was hanging in the very funky Sugarmill Bar @ Potts Point (AKA, Kings Cross) when Mr L, BF, Commando and I visited on Saturday night.  I’ve decided I want one in our lounge room.  Any excuse to boogie really.

Oh, and while we’re talking lighting…

I might as well show you the very cool shot that Mr L took, looking up the skirt of a great big overhead light in the Sugarmill.  I like it.  Clever husband.

Woot wooooooo. Looking up the skirt of a light!

Off to bed!

So I’m staying somewhere completely different to where I might usually stay in Brissie.  I really have no idea where I am and hope that I can find my way to work in the morning.  I’m going to bed.  If I’m going to use my (generally undeveloped) navigational abilities to get myself to work, I’m going to need all the regenerative sleep I can get.  Wish me luck!

I hope you sleep well too.

Before I forget, I have to tell you that last night on the flight from Sydney to Adelaide, I was delivered a gluten free dinner.  For the first time ever, it involved fish.  If you want to know how to lose friends on a packed, small plane, request fish!  The guy next to me actually blocked his nose with his fingers while I was eating it!  😐  It was kinda funny though – I had to stop myself from smiling smugly – as the nose blocker had been invading my personal space the whole trip prior to dinner.  Once the fish arrived, he steered as far away from me as he possibly could.

Sweet, sweet justice! 🙂
