Steve Manfredi’s toasted banana and almond bread

I’ve just flown back in the door after a whirlwind tour to Brissie and back today – have been up since the threes (yes, you read that right) and my ambitions of actually baking Steve Manfredi’s toasted banana and almond bread have unfortunately, been quashed… That doesn’t mean I can’t share the recipe with you though. I will make it, since I do have several 30g servings of Aldi almonds and as we’re nudging our way towards winter, feel like some warm, sweet bread. I’ll make mine with gluten free flour and will post the outcomes in due course. In the mean time, words and picture in this recipe all courtesy of cuisine.com.au.

Almonds from Aldi – alright!

A quick post tonight – mostly made of pictures – I just wanted to tell you about a little spoil I picked up yesterday at Aldi, North Sydney. Of course, you might already be aware of these little gems, but if not, I’d thoroughly recommend picking some up for your lunch box. Aldi’s “Oh so natural” almonds come in a pack of six x 30 g boxes, and make such a tremendous, healthy treat for you and yours. (And no, I’m not on commission!)

Cholesterol lowering flaxseed muffins and foccacia ā€“ simple, but effective!

Massive is the only word I can use to adquately describe last Friday night. It was the hens weekend for one of my beautiful girlfriends – Lans. I must say that the food we ate on the night was delicious ā€“ salads and skewers, along with, preceded by and followed by many beverages. Many beverages. And a nudie swim. And angry neighbours. Anyway… Saturday morning was bright and sunny in Avoca on the NSW Central Coast, but I was not.
